Excellent case that has previously been polished with wear from use.

Dial
Very Good "tropical" gilt dial. The top coat of the lacquer is starting to spider and lift off on some portions of the dial. Will it get worse over time? Yes, but it has taken 50 years to get to this point.
The actual black layer of the dial is turning light brown. The color change is dramatic and not uniform. Notice how the gilt print is still sharp and clear while the black paint under it has faded to brown. The luminous on the dial is original and glows but then drops off quickly when lit up with a UV light. The hands have been color matched to the dial at some point. Call it what you will but we think it looks fantastic.
